Cork "20" Rally 2013 Report

We competed in the Cork "20" Junior Rally on the 6th October in our 1300cc Nissan Micra. We started the event well setting 4th fastest junior time and fastest J1 (1400) time on stage 1.
A bad misfire and a small off  on stage 2 dropped us back a bit but after a good run through ss3 we held 5th overall and 1st J1.
On stages 4 and 5 we lost a lot of time firstly with an overshoot on the first junction of stage 4 and on stage 5 our misfire came back, we also had a brief encounter with a ditch! but escaped with small damage.

Stage 6 was next, the longest and fastest stage of the day where we were badly beaten for top speed on the fast sections sitting on the rev limiter for long periods of time. We had a better run through the stage the second time around and climbed back upto 4th overall still leading our class by over a minute with just 1 stage to go.
On the final stage we were forced to limp through when the misfire that troubled us all day came back worse than ever meaning the car wouldn't rev past 4,000rpm! Thankfully with it being such a short stage we made the finish still holding onto 4th overall and winning our class by over a minute, to say we were delighted would be an understatement!.
